Finthen is a borough of Mainz, the capital of Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany.
It is the westernmost district of the city. Since Finthen was incorporated in 1969 as part of municipal reform, the townscape has changed continuously from a rural village to a residential district. The designation of large new development areas (Katzenberg – Römerquelle – Königsborn) increased the population from about 7000 in 1969 to well over 14,000 in 2020.
